Advice from Nick — Creator of the OMNIcarry System
Most people overthink this, but choosing the right OMNIcarry setup is actually really simple. When I designed this holster, I wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel — I was just trying to build the holster I wished existed when I first started carrying. And honestly? A lot of what OMNIcarry is today came directly from customer feedback over the years.
So let’s keep this easy. Here’s a quick, no-BS guide to figuring out which OMNIcarry is right for you.

1. Start With the Size of Your Pistol
Before anything else, match the shell to your firearm.
OMNIcarry Standard
If you’re running anything in the compact-to-full-size world — Glock 19, G17, M&P, P320, XD, Taurus G-series — start with the Standard.
This shell fits 300+ models because most guns in this category share similar width, height, and trigger guard profiles. One shell covers them all. FIT LISTS LINK
OMNIcarry Micro / 1911 Shell
If your gun is slim, small, or 1911-style, you’ll want the Micro/1911 shell.
Think:
-
P365 series
-
Hellcat
-
Glock 43X/43
-
Single-stack platforms
-
1911/2011-style frames
The Micro shell gives you the same OMNIcarry flexibility but built around smaller geometry.

2. Choose How You Want to Carry: IWB or OWB
This is where people really start overthinking things. So here’s the simple version:
IWB (Inside the Waistband)
Go IWB if you want:
-
Better concealment
-
A tighter fit
-
Everyday carry versatility
-
Appendix or strong-side carry
This is how most people carry the OMNIcarry.
OWB (Outside the Waistband)
Choose OWB if you want:
-
More comfort
-
A quicker, easier draw
-
Something for range days or training
-
A setup that doesn’t sit inside your pants
You can absolutely conceal OWB with the right clothing — especially in winter.
3. Set Your Retention the Way YOU Like It
Every person has a different “perfect” draw feel.
That’s why OMNIcarry uses retention plates instead of fixed tension screws.
Want it tighter?
Use the plate that gives you more grip.
Want a smoother, quicker pull?
Swap to the lighter plate.
There’s no wrong answer here. This is YOUR carry setup.
4. Pick a Color That Fits Your Style
This part is actually more important than people admit. If you like how your gear looks, you’re more likely to actually wear it.
We’ve got:
-
Black
-
Tan
-
Green Camo
-
FDE
-
Specialty shells and bundles
Grab the one you like. It’s your EDC — make it yours.
5. Think About Your Daily Routine
This is where customer feedback shaped OMNIcarry the most.
People told me:
-
“Some days I carry IWB, some days OWB.”
-
“Sometimes I want a micro setup, sometimes a compact.”
-
“I don’t want to buy a whole new holster every time something changes.”
So OMNIcarry was built to adapt.
If you sit a lot?
You might like appendix IWB.
If you’re moving all day?
OWB might feel better.
If you switch firearms often?
Grab the bundle that covers both shell sizes.
Most people have different needs on different days — OMNIcarry flexes with you.
Final Thoughts
Like I said, most people overthink this.
The right OMNIcarry setup really comes down to:
-
Match your gun to the right shell
-
Choose IWB or OWB based on your day
-
Adjust the retention to your liking
-
Pick the color and setup you’ll actually carry
I built this holster because carrying every day shouldn’t be complicated — and because the industry kept making things harder than they needed to be.
If you’ve got questions about setups, fit, or anything OMNIcarry-related, shoot me a message. I’m here to help you carry confidently and comfortably.
